The cellist Yo-Yo Ma has played for presidents and on the planet’s great live performance halls. This weekend, he took his cello to a meadow on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Montana to play for a herd of bison. Famed Cellist Yo-Yo Ma has a project devoted to selling and celebrating ecological healing.

That led him to Glacier National Park to play for a herd of newly reintroduced bison. Experts and volunteers have been joined by students from round 20 universities throughout the country, with many of them camping on the dig. Other significant fossils found this time have been Neanderthal hand axes, ancient bison bones and a prehistoric shark fin.
