2019 Chat & Chew 2019 Review: Connect with your Classmates Instantly
February 24, 2019
College is a fun yet stressful time, as you adjust to new people and experiences. The transition from high school and then from year to year can be tough. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a quick, reliable way to get some extra help?
Mei is the first-ever messaging app with a built-in AI assistant to help with your relationships. We recently launched an anonymous in-app polling feature that can help ease the transition from high school to college or can allow you to connect with fellow NYU students, empowering you to access the knowledge of your peers. This feature enables users to conduct polls to seek immediate answers to questions they have on all things pertaining to campus life. Imagine wanting some feedback on your newest Professor, guidance on the best on campus food, the toughest Psychology class, or which dorm you should select for next semester. Mei offers an easy and quick solution to get the answers you need.
The additional perk here is the increased connectivity to other users, providing a needed support system and encouraging communities within communities on campus.
We recently tested the anonymous polling feature in the lead-up to the midterm election by polling users in the states with hotly-contested races, and, during the holidays, we conducted a poll asking users about their favorite Christmas carols. In both cases, we received responses more quickly than would be done via more traditional methods like phone calls and email surveys.
Additionally, Mei does everything that your standard texting app can do and more; choose your theme for the app, schedule messages, place your texts in selected folders, and set messages to expire. The app is currently only available in the Google Play Store, but we’re working on the iOS version and are planning to release the beta version in the coming weeks.
